Throughout Mount Joy, and in Lancaster County, townships and boroughs have specialized procedures for large appliance recycling. These regulations require prior notice, special instructions, and can sometimes only be picked up on certain days.
The borough of Mount Joy requires special tags for White Goods and other special services. These tags require a prior notice to the trash and recycling company, as well as a fee for purchasing a tag.

Lancaster County Transfer Station Complex
The Transfer Station Complex serves as a central drop-off location for waste haulers collecting recycling and trash in Lancaster County. For a fee on large appliances, this complex will properly dispose of your old household appliance.
The complex’s website offers plenty of information on how to prepare your items for recycling or disposal at the transfer station. In addition to larger appliances, this station can accommodate recycling for electronics, batteries, automobile tires, and more.
