1. Do you sell lumber?
We do not sell lumber, but we recommend local B&G Lumber Company in Elizabethtown and Carter Lumber (locations in Elizabethtown and Lancaster).
2. Do you sell dog licenses?
We do not sell dog licenses and would recommend Keystone Pet Place in Mount Joy. However, we do have a pet department where you can find almost anything a grocery store would have. We carry leashes, food, cleaning products, bathing products, toys, etc. For larger items not in stock such as cages or dog houses, we can order through True Value.
3. Do you sell computers and supplies?
No, we do not sell computers or supplies.
4. Do you sell craft supplies?
Yes, we have some craft supplies for both office or hobby. Items such as cork boards, pipe cleaners, paint, etc. We also carry a large line of craft paint supply in our paint department as well.
5. Do you sell dry ice?
No, we don’t sell anything ice related unless you’re trying to melt it! We do sell salt for outdoor walkways and drives.
6. Do you rent pull trailers or vehicles?
No, we do not rent out any of our trailers or trucks. We also do not rent out vehicles. We do rent out a large selection of lawn equipment, tools, and party supplies.
7. Do you sell mulch?
Yes, we sell bagged mulch in our greenhouse department. We do not sell by scoops, but you can buy a whole pallet and have it delivered. Our selections are primarily True Value brands in red, brown, black, etc. We keep bags on hand year-round!
8. Do you service appliances and equipment?
We service almost everything we sell that can be repaired, including appliances and tractors all the way down to lamps and scissors.
Please talk with our staff about your specific service need because there are several products we do not service such as TVs and smaller appliances.

9. Can you service my mower?
Yes, our large power equipment repair department provides basic maintenance to major repairs to your tractor, riding and zero turn mower, push mower, chainsaw, and snow blower. Please talk with our staff directly on which brand you need assistance with, as some brands we do not work on (such as John Deere and Stihl). Whether you need a seasonal tune-up or a complete overhaul, JB Hostetter can handle it. We use quality factory OEM parts to provide a correct fit and ensure your equipment performs correctly. Our technicians have been trained and Factory Certified by the manufacturers to do authorized warranty work. And our staff is experienced and capable of working on equipment from most manufacturers. Bring in your equipment to our service department, or let us pick it up for you. We offer pickup and delivery for our customers living within 15 miles of our Mount Joy repair shop. 10. Do you sharpen stuff?
Yes, we sharpen scissors, chainsaws, lawnmower blades, and more. Contact us to request a blade sharpening or just bring in your item for service.
11. Do you fix electrical items?
Yes, we can service a number of electrical items like lamps, electrical cords, and electric powered tools. Our extensive line of bulbs include incandescent, halogen, fluorescent, and LED. Some of the brands we carry include GE, Four Seasons, Master Electrician, Square D, Hunter, Westinghouse, Broan, Cooper, Gardner Bender, Pass & Seymour, and CerroWire. Visit our store for all the electrical supplies you need for your next electrical project.
12. Do you sell propane?
Yes, we fill tanks from 20 lb. up to 100 lb. tanks. We also keep new tanks in stock in those sizes if your tank needs to be replaced. There is no appointment needed….simply stop in with your tank and we take care of it for you!
We also participate in the Blue Rhino tank exchange program, offering a quick and easy way to exchange your BBQ grill propane tanks for full ones.
13. Do you offer curbside pickup?
Yes, we do. Call the main store number at 717.653.1841 to make arrangements for curbside pickup.
14. Do you carry water softener equipment?
We stock bags of salt pellets for water softener systems. We do not carry water softener parts or equipment.
15. Do you repair dehumidifiers?
It’s rare that a dehumidifiers is repairable due to the cost. If the dehumidifier is running and not pulling moisture out of the air, it is most likely a sealed system issue and not going to make financial sense to repair due to the high cost of the parts verses the cost of a new unit.
Most manufacturers do not offer replacement parts for the dehumidifiers. Danby is the only model that we carry that has a limited list of parts for them.
16. Do you repair vacuums?
We sell a variety of vacuums and offer a limited number of parts for vacuums including bags, filters, and belts. However, we do not do any repairs on them. Ristenbatt Vacuum in Manheim is a local shop that works on vacuums.
17. Do you do in house plumbing repairs?
We do not offer plumbing service or repairs, but you can rely on our experienced plumbing department staff for advice on any plumbing DIY projects you might tackle.
18. Can you repair lawn equipment at my house?
While we do not offer field work on equipment we do offer pick-up/drop-off service within 15 miles of our Mount Joy store if you are unable to bring the item in for service yourself.
19. Do you sharpen reel type (Amish style) mowers?
While we do not sharpen reel-style lawnmower blades, we do sharpen standard push mower and riding mower blades. We also offer annual service and maintenance for lawn equipment.
20. Do you repair Weber grills?
We are an authorized Weber dealer location, but we do not repair Weber grills. Stop by our store to see Weber grills we have on display in our outdoor living department.
If you’re a DIY-er, we carry a wide selection of grill parts (and expert advice) so you can complete the repair yourself.
21. What is your return policy?
Our products are guaranteed to give 100% satisfaction in every way. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, simply take it back to our store. Most new, unused merchandise (with original packaging where applicable) can be refunded or exchanged with original sales receipt within 30 days of the original purchase date.
